You all know that I just love field sports and the countryside, but the one thing which rivals both of these is my passion for cooking, especially if I am cooking what I have hunter gathered from mother nature’s larder. If you have read my cookery books you will know my cooking could not get any simpler, it’s not fancy it’s just good easy to cook chow that will warm the cockles of your heart & leave you with a warm fuzzy satisfied feeling.
My cooking is inspired by two people who made me the man I am today. The first is my Pappy (Granddad) who travelled around the world many times as a Royal Navy Hero bringing back stories and legends of foreign lands and exotic foods. My Pappy always taught me to cook with passion and a great sense of humour.
The second was my Dads Brother Uncle Dave who is a larger than life mountain man, I always said he looked like Grizzly Adams. However there is not much he does not know about field sports/farming and especially cooking and just like my Pappy he had some of the most amazing names for some of the food he cooked.
Every time I cook I can still feel the presence of these two great men standing over my shoulder showing me what to do and patting me on the back for doing a great job.
My cooking has taken me all around the world and has opened the door to other activities such as Master of Ceremonies at game fairs, live cooking arenas roads and authoring my own books to name but a few.
