The Mad March Hare
A Month of Two Halves
Apparently if you look in the latest issue (March) of Airgun World you might recognise one of the folk in there, a 4 page spread no less as the Guest Editor.
Apparently as a bonus to this there's a fantastic pigeon recipe from the same fellow too on a 5th page I am hearing.
Ooooh I wonder who it can be hmmm?????

Another good show this year, I attended for a couple of hours here and there on the MaxOGun Stand as they sponsored Pass It On Young Sports to have a small spot there on their stand.
I book signed, signed Airgun World magazines as I am in it this month as a guest editor, I got to do all sorts of game calling from a lovely comfy chair as I can't stand for long or walk to much either, I spoke to some of the most wonderful people and especially the young sports.
Met up with some old chums too, it was really nice being there all be it in a very small way this year, bring on 2026.

This last weekend saw yet another awesome meet up of The Somerset Masonic Shooting Club.
We did a shoot one weekend at The Mendip Shooting Ground, then the following weekend at Woodspring Clay Shoot.
A plethora of brothers from many lodges including Gordano Lodge joined us for both events.
The best was however a mornings clay and target shooting at The Woodspring Clay Shoot NR Weston Super Mare, a truly fun shoot at a very scenic venue indeed.
If you are a subscribing craft Mason in Somerset and would like to join our merry band, no experience needed as we have our own coaches, please get in touch via our website link below www.somersetmasonicshootingclub.co.uk

I was asked by a friend of a friend could I go along to their very large Country House and shoot some rabbits.
They have some wonderful ornamental lawns and flower beds being destroyed by said rabbits.
Dad and I popped along with Ole Goose my cocker spaniel for the retrieving as I am not so good on my legs at the moment, using the Air Arms S510 a Night Pearl Thermal Spotter and my good Ole Nite Site Eagle Dark Ops.
As soon as we got there Dad shot a pigeon that came in to roost, the night fell and we switched to NV, saw a few rabbits and in a couple of hours we managed 5 without moving from the truck, Goose enjoyed retrieving each one including the pigeon at the start, my boy never missed a beat, loves that little dog muchly
3 mallard landed in the pond not ten yards away, a badger snuffled around scaring them off, I heard a Russel of leaves, and then a squeal, not 20 yards away I saw a vixen ( female fox) hunt naturally and take a full grown rabbit right next to me the other side of the pond,
This was awesome watching this predator hunt and take her meal back to her cubs.
The evening was spent in almost complete silence, but a million words and memories were exchanged.
Now that's an evening spent as a true Countryman with my Ole Dad and my bestest boy Goose The Cocker Spaniel.

Last night I attended Coleridge Lodge for a fantastic double 2nd degree ceremony and 60 years in Freemasonry certificate presentation.
The ceremony was wonderful and we had a fantastic festive board, great food and even greater company to be amongst good men and Masons.
Whilst there I had the greatest honour in my role as The NW Rep of the Adair Club the official light blues club of Somerset, to present Bro Andreas and Brother John with their official light blue pin badges, bro Mike Hutchings my right hand man here helped present these badges too.
A truly fantastic and special night it was too smib.
